Julia White, LCSW
In therapy, I provide a safe, supportive space to examine and release unhelpful patterns and beliefs rooted in your past so deep, lasting change can occur. I work with clients addressing trauma, relationship issues, eating disorders, anxiety, body image concerns, depression, and related issues. My clinical background includes work in residential eating disorder treatment centers and a residential trauma and PTSD recovery center.
Having walked a personal path of self-acceptance and healing, I know how important it is to have a therapist who is trustworthy, attuned, and grounding. When I think of what helped me heal, I remember how profoundly accepted, understood, and seen I felt—experience that opened the door to offering myself emotional and physical nourishment, compassion, and love. Cultivating the ability to give and receive love, compassion, and acceptance for oneself are powerful therapeutic goals I seek to restore in my clients.
My passion is guiding and supporting the transformation of traumatic experience. I aim to empower you to move beyond toxic shame, face and reduce fear, heal trauma-related distress, and rebuild courage. I am trained in EMDR and utilize Sensorimotor Psychotherapy techniques to restore calm and regulation in both brain and body. I also utilize other approaches to therapy such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) (or CBT-E for clients struggling with eating disorders) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help my clients.
Together, we will explore how life experiences have shaped your functioning, self-perception, and relationships. My work is to support and empower your healing so you can embody positive change and radical self-acceptance.
